Drummer's Health. One of the most important things to remember about drumming is that it is all wrong!
1. Hours sat down on a substandard stool (sorry "THRONE")
2. Holding 2 peices of wood and smashing skins on a drum
3. Ears, Ringing, DEAF!
4. Injuries sucks!
I myself have had a couple of serious injuries over the years, one relating to forearm tendonitis, and my current one with strained tendons in both my index fingers.
First off sorry that I have no pictures of my fingers post studio recording when they were the size of Germany's prize winning sausage of the year 2004. But they were black and blue, a sight to be seen.
I think the lack of warm ups, general finger exercise (PRACTICE PAD !!!) and the sheer volume of drumming I did in one sitting caused the problem. Thus leaving me out of the Throne for over 3 months now.
Something that a lot of drummers blissfully ignore is the importance of warming up, correct posture, general exercise, EARPLUGS!
To spend many happy years grooving or rocking out on the drums there is plenty of steps that I am going to start following, my progress I will try and document as I go along.
For now there is a weatlh of knowledge on the net about drumming injury, here is an excellent link to get you started.

This should be enough to get your brain in gear!
So for me first off to get back into the seat.
1. Stretches before even touching the sticks
2. Drum Pad Rudiments every night(see previous TASTY DRUMS POST)
Good Luck!
